Hall of Thanes: overview

Run Hall of Thanes between levels 13 and 18. This five-player dungeon sits beneath Ironforge in the burial chambers of the dwarven monarchs, where Dark Iron intruders have broken into the halls.

Bring a tank, a healer and three damage dealers. Pick up the dungeon quests before entering, repair your equipment and carry food or water for the run. Agree on crowd control and the kill target before the tank starts a pull; low-level groups have fewer defensive tools to recover from extra enemies.

The dungeon opened in the first week of the Forever beta. It provides an early group-content option before later leveling dungeons. Quest objectives and equipment upgrades give a run a clear purpose; choose your rewards for the role you actually play rather than the item quality alone.

Entrance: enter the High Seat in Ironforge, take the open door on the left and follow Old Ironforge down to the instance portal. Gather Important Heirlooms, The Restless Dead and Old Ironforge Incursion before the run. An Ancient Grudge starts inside, while the Treaty of Understanding is in a vault in the final room.

Faldrim Anvilmar: clear a safe part of his patrol route before pulling. Magmatus: kill the accompanying Dark Iron Summoner and keep the elemental away from the party. Plunder: fight with a wall behind you so Knock Away cannot send you into another pack.

Durgen Dirgehammer: remove the looters around the room before engaging; his fear makes uncleared enemies dangerous. Focus the two stone golems one at a time and use stuns to reduce incoming damage. Dark Iron engineers throw avoidable bombs; summoners can be pulled around a corner to break line of sight.
