Leveling in WoW Forever
Plan your next zone, choose dungeon runs that fit your level and keep your character supplied. Forever retains the level-60 cap and adds questing areas, dungeons and progression perks along the route.
Choosing your next questing area
Start in your race’s starting area and finish nearby quest chains before making a long trip. Collect quests that share a destination, return together to hand them in and learn the local flight paths as you travel. If most available enemies are above your level, move to another appropriate area or join a dungeon group rather than repeatedly dying on the same quest.
Skyborne begin on Zephras Isle. Riverglades supplies another mid-level questing option, while Mount Hyjal is a level-60 destination. These additions fit alongside the original Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor zones; they do not require every character to follow one identical route.
| Progression stage | What to do |
|---|---|
| Starting levels | Complete local chains, train useful spells, obtain bags and unlock nearby travel. Save materials for early Cooking and First Aid. |
| Talents from level 10 | Choose the attacks, healing or tanking role your build supports. Spend earlier points toward a useful talent rather than distributing points without a plan. |
| Early dungeon levels | Collect instance quests before the run. Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron offer early group-content options. |
| Mid-level questing | Combine nearby quest hubs and appropriately leveled dungeon runs. Compare travel time and quest rewards before crossing the world for a small upgrade. |
| Approaching 60 | Finish useful chains, prepare role-specific equipment and make room for dungeon and raid requirements. Mount Hyjal belongs to endgame preparation. |
New dungeons by level
Use the range to plan a group, then check the entrance and quests before leaving town. A tank, healer and three damage dealers give a new group a clear division of jobs. Agree on interrupts and crowd control instead of trying to recover after several packs have joined the fight.
| Dungeon | Level range and location |
|---|---|
| Hall of Thanes | 13–18 · Beneath Ironforge |
| Ruins of Lordaeron | 15–20 · |
| Whelgar’s Excavation | 24–29 · Wetlands |
| City of Dalaran | 28–33 · Dalaran |
| Blackmaw Hold | 55–60 · Azshara |
| The Drowned City | 35–40 · |
| Krol’dok Stronghold | 40–45 · |
| Alcaz Prison | 48–53 · Alcaz Island |
| Shaper’s Terrace | 58–60 · Un’Goro Crater |
A dungeon gives more value when its quests and drops help your next leveling stage. Inspect the gear lists for obtainable upgrades rather than repeatedly farming a run without a target.
Leveling advice for each class
Warrior
Keep your weapon skill trained after an upgrade, fight enemies near your level and pull with a ranged weapon when walking forward would attract another pack. Train the stance quests as they become available. Keep food and bandages ready: a difficult pull can leave too little health for the next enemy.
Paladin
Refresh your blessing and aura, use an appropriate seal and keep weapon upgrades current for a melee build. Fight in a position that leaves time to heal or retreat. A dungeon tank should begin with Righteous Fury active and enough mana for the pull.
Hunter
Let your pet establish contact before committing damage. Bind Pet Attack and Follow, learn the route a pet will take and recall it before dungeon shortcuts. Keep a current weapon and train useful abilities; Aimed Shot becomes baseline at level 20.
Rogue
Keep both weapons upgraded and your poisons stocked. Open from Stealth when useful, stop dangerous casts with Kick and prevent fleeing enemies from bringing another pack. Recover with food or bandages between pulls rather than starting the next fight at low health.
Priest
Use a wand to finish a weak enemy when another spell would waste mana. Shadow can benefit from Spirit Tap after kills. Keep emergency healing available and group difficult pulls rather than spending the entire mana bar to survive one enemy.
Shaman
Prepare a useful totem set and move it as the fight moves. Do not spend a full mana bar placing totems for an enemy that will die quickly. Keep drink available and use safe pulls while learning which enemies can interrupt your casts.
Mage
Conjure enough food and water before leaving town. Keep Frost Nova, Blink and Counterspell easy to reach. A safe controlled pull is usually faster than recovering from a death after attempting a pack larger than your available mana can handle.
Warlock
Send the demon first, keep attack and follow bindings available and do not spend extra mana when existing effects will finish the enemy. Keep Soul Shards ready before a dungeon. Life Tap is a resource tool, but leave enough health for the next hit.
Druid
Train the forms and spells that support your route. Cat and Bear reduce dependence on repeated mana-spending attacks, while caster and healing play still need water. Use healing between fights and return to a suitable form before the next pull.
Supplies, professions and saving gold
Keep enough money for training before buying a small equipment upgrade. Prioritize spells and ranks you use, keep a usable weapon and repair before a dungeon. Clear bag space in town so a quest trip does not end early because your inventory is full.
- Learn Cooking to turn questing ingredients into recovery food.
- First Aid supplies bandages and Forever healing potions without taking a primary profession slot.
- Pair Mining with Blacksmithing or Engineering, Herbalism with Alchemy, or Skinning with Leatherworking when you want to supply your own craft.
- Check the cost of an enchant against how long you expect to keep the item. Temporary quest gear rarely justifies exhausting your training budget.
- Group elite quests and use control on difficult pulls. A death, repair bill and corpse run often cost more time than finding another player.
Keep a separate budget for riding training. Forever puts the up-front mount cost into the training purchase and grants a mount when you learn the skill.
Legacy, camps and rested experience
Legacy unlocks with your first Legacy Point, usually around level 25. Points are account-wide, but each character selects its own perks. Well Rested supports rested experience, while Talented provides earlier access to talent points. Choose perks for the activities you actually do rather than assuming you must level several alternate characters.
A camp provides a recovery stop and profession features. Use it before the next trip, and do not assume that every camp buff stacks with the corresponding class buff. Read the Camping guide and Legacy guide for the practical rules.
New regions
Mount Hyjal
Mount Hyjal opens as a questing region after Archimonde’s defeat, including Darkwhisper Gorge.
Shen’dralas
A new region between Mulgore and Desolace connects the Shen’dralar, Eldre’Thalas, Dire Maul and local centaur tribes.
Riverglades
A mid-level frontier region adds over 150 quests across rivers, grasslands and trade routes.
Zephras Isle
The Skyborne starting area uses elemental themes and architecture inspired by Skywall.
