Ruins of Lordaeron: overview

Ruins of Lordaeron is a five-player dungeon for levels 15–20 in the ruined capital above Undercity. The Forsaken return to recover heirlooms and reclaim part of their former home from the undead.

Gather your dungeon quests before leaving the city. A balanced group needs a tank who can hold the enemies, a healer with enough drinking supplies and damage dealers who focus the marked target. Keep the group together around corners so nobody pulls another pack while the healer is recovering mana.

The dungeon was available in the first beta week alongside Hall of Thanes. Use the item drops below to compare upgrades before the run. The source column distinguishes a named encounter from a quest reward; those are different ways to obtain equipment.

Entrance: find the instance portal in the surface ruins above Undercity, south of Brill. Horde should collect quests in Undercity, the Brill–Undercity caravan area and the Sepulcher before entering. Alliance quest objectives begin inside, including Captain Truman near the entrance.

Witherfang: clear his patrol path and kill the spider adds. The Baron: keep the tank healthy for his heavy attack and use stuns. Viktor the Vile: activate the Kindled Flame and survive five add waves before letting the tank establish threat on the boss.

The Abandoned appears after three waves in Market Street; stop Drain Life with a stun and heal through his frost effects. Bjork uses a brief anti-magic shield. Rath’mael casts Flamestrike on the tank’s position: move as the cast starts and leave the ground effect.

Quest rewards include The Stitcher for Horde, Gnarled Necromancer’s Staff, Slain Baron’s Signet and the Alliance Tarnished Locket. Keep room for quest items and check the buildings for the Crest of Lordaeron before leaving.
