Whelgar’s Excavation: overview

The new Wetlands excavation dungeon expands the dig site above Whelgar’s Excavation. Fossils and dwarven archaeology provide the setting, adding a group destination to a zone already used by leveling characters.

Treat the excavation as a dungeon destination when planning a Wetlands questing trip. Before putting a group together, compare the available equipment below with your current items and finish nearby quest pickups. The beta gear catalogue uses the location name Excavation Site: Wetlands.

A dungeon trip should cover several useful goals together: quest progress, equipment upgrades and profession blueprints when available. Bring repair money and leave room in your bags so the group does not have to stop for a vendor halfway through.

Key mechanics and preparation

The dungeon is associated with Whelgar’s Excavation.
It is one of the nine launch dungeons.
