Warlocks combine spells with a controlled demon and health-to-mana recovery. Affliction maintains damage-over-time effects, Demonology develops pet interactions, and Destruction focuses on direct attacks and Immolate follow-ups.
Affliction pays an upfront cast cost for damage over time. A target that dies before most ticks occur is a poor place to invest the complete cycle; choose the next durable target instead.
Bane of AgonyCorruptionSiphon Life
Use a demon to hold attention while you establish damage-over-time effects. Begin with one enemy, then add a second only when your Health and Mana comfortably support it.
Demonic Energies lets your spell damage heal your demon in the supplied tree. Continue useful casts while monitoring pet Health; standing idle waiting for the pet to recover works against this interaction.

Demonology is a comfortable pet-focused leveling choice. Use the Voidwalker when you need a sturdy distraction, and the Succubus when its damage and control suit the pull.
Backdraft changes the casts following Conflagrate. Watch the buff and use its benefit on the actual follow-up sequence instead of moving away immediately after generating it.
ImmolateConflagrateIncinerate
At the beta cap, maintain Immolate, use Conflagrate when available, and fill with Shadow Bolt. Shadowburn finishes targets when its damage and shard cost are justified.
Leveling a Warlock
At early levels, a wand can finish a weakened target without another spell cost. Drain Life is an alternative when Health recovery is useful and the target will survive the channel.
Create Healthstones before the run and keep shards for your demon and group utility. Carry water, food and bandages as well: Life Tap followed by recovery is useful only when the location and incoming damage make it safe.
