Druids switch between caster, melee, tank and healer roles. Balance uses Moonkin spells, Feral Combat develops Cat and Bear gameplay, and Restoration heals with effects that continue while the Druid moves.
Eclipse rewards using both Wrath and Starfire. The talent tooltip in the embedded build is the reference for its actual trigger and effect; a fixed “spam one spell forever” plan throws away the second spell’s role.

Before the full Balance tree, Improved Wrath gives a direct benefit to the spell you repeatedly cast. Pull from range, use Entangling Roots to create distance, and stop adding damage-over-time effects when the next direct spell will end the fight.
Cat uses energy and combo points; Bear uses rage. Track the resource appropriate to the form instead of treating shifting as an automatic refill. Furor’s current tooltip differs from the original Classic powershifting loop.

Levels 1–9: use Wrath at range and melee to finish when that saves mana. Keep healing available before the next pull rather than beginning a fight already injured.
Gift of the Earthmother reduces the global cooldown of Rejuvenation, Swiftmend and Wild Growth. That makes a prepared instant-healing sequence responsive, but each spell still costs mana and needs a useful target.

For mostly solo questing, a damage-oriented Balance or Feral allocation is more efficient than investing every point into healing throughput. Carry healing gear so you can still heal an appropriate dungeon without turning every solo fight into a long spell exchange.
Leveling a Druid
Take Insect Swarm and Nature’s Splendor as your talent progression reaches them. The displayed leveling build provides the final allocation; spend points in legal row order rather than attempting to buy its deeper talents immediately.
Shapeshifted Druids can use more consumables and benefit from weapon effects. Revive adds an out-of-combat resurrection at level 12. Balance, Feral Combat and Restoration cover spell damage, form-based combat and healing. The announced Feral revisions include changes beyond this site’s original talent transcription.
Carry water for casting and healing, and healing or mana potions for difficult pulls. Food such as Brilliant Smallfish or Herb Baked Egg can support leveling. Use consumables in forms when supported, rather than leaving them unused because of old Classic habits.
Open the calculator to allocate points, inspect every rank and save a build link. Tier and prerequisite checks keep the allocation valid. Each specialization guide explains which talents support its attacks, control or healing tools.
