WOW FOREVER · PLAYER REFERENCE

Arms Warrior guide

Arms Warrior uses a two-handed weapon and focuses on dealing damage with individual weapon attacks. In WoW Forever, Spearing Strike adds another attack to your available abilities. Rend also becomes more important because of its interaction with Bloodthrill, which can create opportunities to use Overpower. Keep Rend active when your talents benefit from it, use Overpower when available, and spend Rage on your strongest attacks without delaying important abilities.

Beta gameplay guide · Updated 12 October 2026

Rotation and opener

Keep Battle Shout active. Apply Rend early on a durable target, and coordinate Sunder Armor with the group rather than duplicating another Warrior’s job.

Combat priority

  1. Rend

Keep Rend running on durable targets. With Bloodthrill, melee attacks against a target affected by your Rend can activate Overpower. Refresh Rend when it is about to expire instead of spending Rage on early refreshes.

  2. Overpower

Use Overpower when it activates, before its available-use window expires. Move into the required stance deliberately; do not spend a large Rage pool immediately before changing stance.

  3. Mortal Strike

Use Mortal Strike during sustained melee uptime once the build unlocks it. Its healing reduction is especially valuable against a player being healed.

  4. Whirlwind

Use Whirlwind when you have the Rage for your next priority attack. Check that nearby enemies are safe to hit before pressing it.

  5. Slam

Use Slam as a filler with Improved Slam. Without that talent, place the cast after a melee swing instead of repeatedly interrupting your weapon rhythm.

  6. Execute

Switch to Execute when the enemy falls below 20% health. Avoid spending the Rage needed for an immediately available Execute on an optional filler.

Multiple targets and dungeon pulls

For two targets, Sweeping Strikes is the important cleave talent: arrange the targets beside one another before spending its charges.

Whirlwind and Cleave spend Rage quickly. Use them during actual multi-target uptime, then return to Rend and your main weapon attacks when only one enemy remains.

Resources and cooldowns

Rage is not a timer that fills automatically. Avoid starving Mortal Strike by queuing Heroic Strike too early. Stance changes can cost Rage, so plan Battle Stance access for Rend and Overpower rather than changing stances at random.

  • Use Sweeping Strikes when two controlled enemies can be hit throughout the cleave window. Establish their position before spending charges on an isolated target.
  • Use Recklessness during sustained melee uptime, preferably a useful Execute phase when encounter timing allows. Do not activate it immediately before a forced disengage.
  • Use Bloodrage before the pull or when the next Mortal Strike would otherwise be Rage-starved. Retain enough Rage across stance changes to use an available Overpower.

Specialization mechanics and group play

A slow two-handed weapon supports the large weapon-based strikes. Compare actual weapon damage, not just the color of the item name.

Spearing Strike has a creature-specific role against Dragonkin and Giants. Treat it as situational rather than displacing stronger attacks against every enemy.

PvP talent choices and play

Mortal Strike applies healing pressure, while Improved Hamstring helps maintain contact. Keep Rage for the attack that matters inside your control window; chasing a fleeing opponent through fresh enemies is usually a poor trade.

Stats and equipment decisions

Priority / equipmentHow to use it
Two-handed weapon damagePrioritize an appropriate two-handed weapon upgrade. Mortal Strike and Slam reward substantial weapon damage; a slow weapon supports large individual strikes.
HitImprove the reliability of Mortal Strike, Overpower follow-up attacks and ordinary melee swings. Account for enemy level and any relevant talent bonuses before buying gear purely for Hit.
Strength / Attack PowerStrength and Attack Power improve sustained physical damage. Compare these after weapon quality and attack reliability rather than replacing a large weapon upgrade for a few armor stats.
Critical strike / AgilityCritical strike improves burst and weapon damage. Agility is another source of melee critical strike, but does not replace the direct attack-power contribution of Strength.

Enchanting equipment

For inexpensive leveling preparation, Enchant Bracer - Inferior Stamina and Enchant Chest - Inferior Stamina add survival to equipment you expect to keep. Prioritize an important weapon or role-specific item upgrade before spending heavily on temporary armor.

Consumables and preparation

Healing Potion

Carry a level-appropriate Healing Potion for an emergency. Use it before the next unavoidable hit kills you rather than waiting for a healer who is already occupied.

Rage Potion

Use the appropriate learned-level version for resource recovery. Higher-level consumables are preparation for later content, not a requirement for an early beta character.

Heavy Silk Bandage

A First Aid recovery option for characters who meet its requirement. Use it during a safe break between attacks; incoming damage interrupts bandaging.

Useful profession pairings

Engineering offers active tools for dangerous pulls and PvP. Bind the devices you actually carry; selecting the profession without using its consumables supplies no practical benefit.

Alchemy supports a regular potion supply, while Herbalism funds that supply during leveling. Buy only the consumables you can use at your present level.

Blacksmithing is an equipment route for weapons and armor. Check the specific recipe and its availability rather than assuming a profession choice automatically awards an endgame weapon.

Races and racial abilities

Human is a weapon-specific damage option through Sword Specialization; its Forever benefit is critical strike rather than the old racial weapon skill bonus.

Orc offers Blood Fury for an offensive window. Dwarf Stoneform and Tauren War Stomp are practical tanking and control choices; select for the job rather than declaring one race best for every encounter.

Leveling and solo play

  1. Arms focuses on powerful weapon attacks and efficient Rage management. Use Overpower when its conditions are met, and prioritize Mortal Strike once you have learned it. A strong two-handed weapon is especially important for this playstyle.
  2. As the Arms talents develop, practice Overpower reactions and use a two-handed weapon with competitive damage. Keep a one-handed weapon and shield for dungeon tanking rather than buying a separate entire armor set.
  3. Use Victory Rush after a qualifying kill when available. Plan the next pull around recovery and cooldowns, and avoid spending all your money on armor upgrades that barely change survival.

Useful macros

Focus Pummel

#showtooltip Pummel
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] Pummel

Interrupts your hostile focus without changing your damage target. Pummel still needs the correct stance, range and resources; the macro does not bypass those conditions.

Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths

  • Strong individual weapon hits
  • Useful healing pressure
  • Rend and Overpower create an active priority

Limitations

  • Dependent on weapon quality
  • Stance and Rage management
  • Limited recovery without supplies

Common mistakes

  • Spending Rage on Heroic Strike before a core ability
  • Ignoring an Overpower opportunity
  • Refreshing a bleed on a target about to die
